The People (15.08.07)

The story of the People
Is like a tree,
Growing deep in the forest,
Its roots are the past,
Buried beneath us
Its trunk the present,
Always right in front of us
It branches clutching the sky, are the future,
Always out of reach

Because the tree is ourselves,
With it, began the world,
And with its ending,
So will the world end,
For in our end, is our beginning

All time and all people,
Fern, who listens now,
I, who speak,
All who have,
Or ever will be,
Are one in the telling

Since this tale nor anything else
Can be made to please everyone,
Nobody need to believe any more of it,
Than he wants to believe
All the same, the best and most profitable
Thing is to listen while a story is being told,
To enjoy it, and not be gloomy
For the fact is that as long
As people are enjoying the entertainment,
They won’t be thinking evil thoughts

The coming of Earth,
The coming of Air,
Of the People beneath the mountain,
Of the Spirit within the mountain,
All are in your hands
Help you People, we pray for you,
Guard your People, we pray for you,
Guide and protect them

The enemy smote us,
Taking those who were not worthy,
But we, the worthy ones,
He couldn’t slay,
I have brought us all to safety
In this place, tonight, we shall form our own cult,
We shall be the Brotherhood of the Night,
And shall have dominion on the night
I, then saw demons riding within the forest,
I saw Shaitan, laughing and triumphant

Many were lost in the killing ground
Below the cliffs,
The dying lay thick upon
The forest floor
We weep for the dying and
The dead,
While Bright Feather, the hunter’s great leader
Pursues the Newcomers,
Cutting them down with spear,
As they flee from the hunters,
From the great Bright Feather
Praise our heroes,
Their courage has saved the People,
Driving the Newcomers from the land

The whole world shook,
The sky lit up and,
The hillside split open.
Flames leapt into the sky,
And a great roar was heard
A deep chasm opened up,
And swallowed the Brotherhood of the Night

I’d like to thank those who’ve listened,
And since those who didn’t like it
Won’t ever be satisfied,
Let them enjoy their own misery
